The Vekta Packfeeder ensures that your saw will never be waiting for timber. The ultimate automatic infeed system- speed, compact size, customisable and it completely eliminates picking errors.
Long lengths sit on the top row while your shorter lengths sit on the bottom row. Each pack of timber sits on racks and new racks are loaded in at the end. The Packfeeder then scans the location of each rack as well as the rack numbers. The rack number is what is used by the saw to request timber – i.e. 90×35 6.0m timber is in rack 12 for example. When one pack is empty, the racks are manually removed by hand and a new pack is loaded in at the end. The new pack is then pushed into position and all subsequent packs shuffle down to fill in the gap created by the old pack. When the packfeeder next scans the racks, it notes the new location of each pack to be used for picking. By having the two rows of timber, small gaps between the packs and a single loading location, the required floor space is only about 25% of what is generally required by other solutions on the market.
